Seraphene
My beloved former 'sona. She was my first fursona in use from 2009 through mid-2011, and has undergone a couple of design changes since then.
Sera's species is a major part of her design. She may just look like a feathered dragon, but is actually a chimera. She has the head/neck of a dragon, the body, forelegs, and feet of a ferret, the hind legs and tail of a cat, and the wings and feathers of an owl. The dragon is for intelligence and a tendency to be bossy. The ferret is for playfulness, affection, and a tendency to be ADD. The cat is for curiosity, independence, and laziness. The owl is for intelligence and nocturnal preferences. She has two forms: a larger one several feet long and a smaller one just larger than one foot. Her coloration is mostly a blotchy gray that changes with the seasons to represent mutability and an unassuming nature.
Seraphene's name, in my mind, is a portmanteau of seraph, a type of angel and Athene, the Greek goddess of wisdom and war strongly associated with owls. However Sue-ish that information may sound, Seraphene is already in use as actual names for people and is actually not as corny as many other names.
In general, Sera is shy and cautious around strangers and playful and affectionate around friends.
